Welcome to TS Kent
BURGEE EFFICIENCY STANDARD 2008
NEWS FLASH: Sheppey Awarded Stephenson Trophy 2008 (Top Unit in Southern Area) - Presentation Night Success - Cadets To Attend District Promotion Board - PO(SCC) Richard Anderson receives Gold Duke of Edinburgh Award

The Sea Cadet Corps is a nationwide voluntary uniformed youth organisation, open to all young people aged 12 to 18, Marine Cadets for young people aged 13 to 18 and with Junior Sections open to those of 10 to 12 years of age. It is Britain's most successful nautical organisation for the development of young people with local Units run by enthusiastic adult volunteers.

We have a rank structure modelled on that of the Royal Navy, giving Cadets an opportunity to progress and take up positions of responsibility as they acquire skills and seniority. On reaching 18, many Cadets choose to stay on as adult instructors, when their training and talents become invaluable.

Cadets of TS Kent take part in a number of events at Unit, District, Area and National level and these include Drill & Piping, Sailing, Swimming, Canoeing, Athletics, Expedition Training and Boatwork. The Cadets also take part in the Duke of Edinburgh award as well as the BTEC in Public Services, Maintenance Engineering and other nationally recognised qualifications. One of the few limitations we do have is that we do not currently have a Marine Detachment.

If you wish to find out more about our adventures afloat, fun ashore all whilst making lots of friends and gaining all sorts of new skills then come and join the crew at T.S. Kent.

We are also on the look-out for any adults who have a few hours to spare and would like to come along and help out. We have a range of positions or roles which may suit you. No previous experience is necessary - just time and enthusiasm. If you want more infomation on volunteering see HERE
